In a rut?

I had someone point something out to me today. It's baffling. My friends from school and I are all intelligent, well-read people, and yet, we fill our summers reading 'L.A. Candy' and 'Behind the Fame: Lady Gaga.' It's not to say that I (or my friends) did not enjoy reading these, but as students at a prestigious, academically focused high school, should we be reading more serious prose? Remember my dream of completing Proust over the summer? Didn't happen. I completed a lot of service, artistic, and academically oriented projects, though. Is that not enough? I think, and mind you, this is just the humble opinion of a blogger, that reading such books, and watching shows like 'Real Housewives: D.C.' (premiere on Thursday!!), helps us balance out our more serious endeavors. At least for me, coming home from a busy school day, or finishing a few heavy articles leaves me brain-dead, and cozying up to something comforting and fluffy is nice. Imagine it like this: if we had all been eating a diet of kale and bok choy (the most nutrient rich foods) for a whole day, it would feel good to come home to some Oreos and a glass of milk. Right? Besides, I'm a pop culture fiend, more Andy Warhol than TMZ. It fascinates me in a really, like, deep way, guys. So I'll read my music memoirs, and watch my reality TV! And at the same time, I'll tell you all about the kinetic molecular theory, and how to pass the APUSH Exam. So there. I'll be enjoying my shallow entertainment, readers. So you should too.

P.S. I went all Vanessa Hudgens today when I painted my nails, a pre-manicure thang just so they don't look empty. I did all fingers white, except for my ring fingers (both hands) which I painted lavender. I'm in love. And thinking about spicing up my back to school manicure plans with the same idea. Only sky blue being the dominant color, and white the accent. Thoughts?

Girl, Interrupted.

It's that time again! That's right, kiddos, I have a new favorite film. Girl, Interrupted has captured the coveted spot at the top of my list. All the characters are so complex, and I love it! Now maybe you've noticed, but I'm not one for romantic comedies. Like, at all. So a drama about a girl's psych ward is right up my alley. It's no surprise that Angelina Jolie won an Oscar for her role in the film, she plays a crazy person flawlessly. But my favorite part of the film? At the beginning, during a particularly touching voice-over sequence, Winona talks about shoplifting, even when you've got the cash. Funny, isn't it, guys? That just a few years later she would get busted for doing just that? Life works in funny ways. But I'll be adding Susanna Keyson's memoir (of the same title as the movie) to my list of memoirs to read. So you should too.

Zemanta??

Well, beauties! I just added something called Zemanta to my blog. Idk what it does. I'll be finding out, though. So you should too?

Beauty Blogging

I stalk Glamour.com.

Whew, glad that's off my chest, readers! Their GirlsInTheBeautyDept. blog totally inspires me. So I thought I'd let you guys in on my beauty prep for school. Yayz?

A back to school manicure is very, very important. At least in my book. I'll be heading over to see my Asians at Lisa's Nails for mine, but it's totally do-able at home! I am just super unskilled with polishing my own hands. Color wise, neons are big in summer (I've worn OPI shades Russian Navy and Pretty in Pink) and earth tones in fall (Preview: Essie's Pretty Edgy!), and the best way to handle the transition season is by using an in between color. Blue is best! This mauve-y blue ( is understated but unexpected. It's a great hue! And it looks really polished and not too kitschy. Above Shade is Essie's Barbados Blue.

I've gotten really into green eyeshadow as of late. Thanks, girls at Ulta for my fab makeup lesson that introduced me to my perfect shade!! A deep green and golden-brown combo (think the color palette in the Twilight movies...) accentuates my brown eyes and peaches-and-cream skin tone. I use a smudgy brown liner on top and bottom, a thin line of green (this is UltaShadow in Shamrock, the actual color I use!) starting at the lash line, and continuing above the line I created with the brown liner. Then I sweep UltaShadow in Safari over my whole lid. Of course, I finish with black mascara.

Guys, a lot of you know that I am a Dior makeup fanatic, and I'm a super big fan of their nude shade, Pink Empress, shown above. If you read my post about celebs baring it all, then you know understated is in. I'm trading my classic Dior Addict Pink Lust lips for nude. It's super casual, so its good for school, too! Yay. What's important for nude lips, though, guys, is trying out the shade on your own lips. Balance out pink lips with a cool beige, and balance out pale lips with a yellow beige. Not all nudes are created equally.

So yesterday my official back to school beauty prep began with waxing. Ouch. But now, the fun, and pain free parts begin! I'll be gettin' ready guys! So you should too.

Tech Troubles...

Guys, I wish I could set up tabs on this blog. A Fashion tab, a Style tab, you get the picture. It would totes help me to compartmentalize my thoughts, ya know? Stupid blogspot. It would be awesome if someone who knew how to do such things could enlighten me...

Well, 'till then, you'll have to put up with my randomness.

Are You Ready??

Woaaah, kiddos. There's a super hot new trend in metro areas as of late. And that's food trucks. These mini-Airstreams with Zagat-rated yummies are sprouting up like gophers on a golfcourse. There's Italian, Vietnamese, Mexican, Korean, you name it. I wanna start one guys. All I need is a van, a staff, a kitchen, and customers. All of which I don't have. So it's looking pretty unlikely, but so did a U.S. President ever appearing on The View...

Anyways. Is Motown ready for a high class food truck? Vegetarian of course. Here's my business plan J.I.C.*. I just love a good, detailed, and gourmet fantasy business.

Sandwiches, soups, salads.

Name:
  1. The Wheel Deal?
  2. Veggie Wagon? nix that.
  3. The Dish?
  4. Dine 'n Dash? WINNER

Menu:
Must include sweet potato fries, black bean burger, and potato salad.
Oh, and chocolate-raspberry torte.

Interested? Good. I'll be fantasizing. So you should too.

WANT

It's been a while since I've blogged. Whatevs.

Guys OMG. Yesterday was so much fun. What did I do? I played around on the old turntable with my pals. Frostwire is great, but there's nothing like The Clash on a turntable. I so love em. Which has inspired me to get my own! I think I could start a pretty rad record collection. And I even picked out the perfect record player. Bright red. Thanks, amazon.com! Well whaddoya think?! I like it. So you should too.

T-Moms

Bad nickname, good band. So I'm getting into Taylor Momsen's band-- The Pretty Reckless. Sure, they're slutty, and they're only 16. But they are totally in with my new Runaways obsession. In fact, T-Moms auditioned to play her idol, Cherie Currie, in the movie. Dakota Fanning got the role. Eh. While D-Fann was amazing, I feel like she didn't quite have the same rock and roll attitude the other girls (like K-Stew) did. Although, that could have been the point. Cherie Currie was known to be a fan of slower, more melodic songs, an artistic difference that led to her leaving the band. Anywho, The Pretty Reckless' album comes out late August, and it's sure to be full of 3-chord songs, catchy choruses, and a Joan Jett-esque growl. I could not have asked for better timing. And just for kicks, I'll write about the band's controversial image. The new music video features a lingerie-clad T-Moms crawling on the table in a Last Supper scene as she breaks glass over the heads of her disciple band mates. Onstage, she wears a corset, fishnets (sounds like Cherie Currie to me...), and stripper heels complete with a clear platform labeled "tips". So she's a bad girl. WHO CARES!? Let the rockers roll, kiddos! The Pretty Reckless are a throw back to girl power of the '70s. They are free. They are young. They are slutty. They are empowering. And the Biblical references are nothing new. Does the name Madonna mean anything to you guys? Well, I'll be checking out the new music video for "Miss Nothing." So you should too.

Oh, Spencer

What would I do without Spencer Pratt? How I love his crystals, his beads, his neck veins, his v-necks, his temper. But what I love most? His recent comment to PEOPLE magazine about his split with Heidi. Is it supposed to be a joke? Like Heidi and his video for Funny or Die? I hope so. While it is certainly entertaining, I feel sorry for poor Heidi. Remember when she was a sweet girl from Colorado in Season 1? Remember when she broke up with boyfriend Jordan (whatever happened to that chihuahua he bought her?) for being too violent and over the top? And now Spencer? I want to track down Jordan and here his story. Does he watch the Hills and laugh? Does he pity his ex, or hold a grudge? Interesting. I'll be thinking about this. So you should too.

Review: Into the Wild

YES, I know this came out in 2007. NO, I don't care. Guys, I had high hopes for this movie. I was certain it would knock "The Runaways" out of the top spot. No. It DID NOT. The story chronicles a Emory graduate from a wealthy, albeit troubled, family (Emile Hirsch). He breaks loose and heads out into the wild. He makes a lot of friends, including Vince Vaughn's law breaking farmer, K-Stew's sexed up trailer park waif, and Catherine Keener's hippie commune buds. All the while, he's just waiting to go to Alaska on an amazing solo adventure. So he makes it. And he has an awesome time. But he's kinda, scratch that, really lonely. And then he gets really hungry. And he sucks as a hunter. So he decides to eat some wild berries. BAD IDEA, KIDDOS. Obviously, he eats poison ones, and he reads in his book of magic that he will shortly die of starvation. On his deathbed, he writes down "Happiness is only real when shared." Touching. He also imagines what it would be like to be reunited with his family. It made me sad, but, like, I don't feel sorry for him. He was there by choice. Plus, everyone knows not to eat wild berries. And he abandoned K-Stew, and momma Catherine Keener. So yeah. Oh, and this is a true story. I'll be avoiding wilderness excursions for awhile. So you should too.

btw these are pics of the real Christopher McCandless... crying yet?

New Obsession

It's time, guys. I have a new obsession. What? The Runaways. Huh? Yeah, that's right. The girl group from the '70s. I just watched the biopic starring Dakota Fanning and K-Stew as Cherie Currie and Joan Jett. It's amazing! It just makes me want to go crazy, cut my hair, wear leather pants, do drugs, and move to LA to be in a girl group. Yeah, D-Fan and K-Stew have an awkward kiss, but that's hardly the only thing that happens in the movie. It's about fame, friendship, and a Hollywood before Speidi. This movie has re-ignited my love for '70s music. So that's what I'll be listening to for the rest of the summer. All 3 weeks of it that is. So you should too.

listen to this song and tell me it doesn't make you want to be just like them.

Should Celebs Bare It All?

Guys, just now, I was voting on some People.com photos on "Their Best Look". For those of you with lives (ie, those who spend Sunday nights not on their laptops stalking celebrities) this is a series of photos showing stars with 2 different makeup looks and people like me vote on which is the best one. So I noticed a trend, readers. America is definitely favoring the nude. Makeup, that is. Voters consistently chose looks that were sparse and not overdone. I'm not sure if this is good or bad, just something to ponder. Take a look yourselves, maybe? Well, I will. I'll also be buying some nude makeup! So you should too.

Airport v. Airport

Well, readers, the Logan Int'l Airport is earning way more points right now than the ATL one. Mostly because Logan offers free WiFi and ATL does not. Heh. Anyways, guys, I'm in a bit of a blogging rut. I need something fresh. Like a daily thing. I used to do Vocab, which I will continue during the school year, but summer is no time for vocabulary. So I was thinking about a couple of things:

1. Words o' Wisdom: I just got a great book called WIT from the COOP (that's the Harvard Cooperative Assoc.) and it's full of great quotes. So I could feature one erry day.

2. Newsflash: I'm a news fiend. I love newspapers. So I could do a short blissue daily on a domestic news item. Or even international, for that matter.

Whaddoya think? I'll give you an example of each.

WoW (NO, not World of Warcraft. Words o' Wisdom. Remember?)

Newsflash:
June 17, 2010
JK, guys. This one would take way too much work. Just gonna go with WoW.
K?
K.
Also, guys, check out my cousin's new blog: Parlez Vous Katie?

She copied me.
I'll be keeping tabs on it.....
So you should too.

well...

SCARY: I forgot to blog yesterday. And what a day it was. WOW. It was our last on the cape. And we left bright 'n early.
SCARIER: Mom and Dad decided to take a trip to Lexington and Concord. Eww. Also, BROOK FREAKING FARM. Bad memories. Blehh. My fellow LAMPers sympathized with me. I was encouraged to burn down the School of Transcendentalism. I didn't. I should have. Lexington was a really cute town, though.
SCARIEST: As we were headed back to our hotel, we were in a CAR CRASH WITH A BICYCLE. Forreal, guys. Forreal. The best part? My cousin caught the whole thing on tape. Why, you say? I was singing along to some Lady Gaga, and she filmed me because I was acting like an idiot. An unsuspecting idiot. And then the bike hits. It was cray-zay. But we're all okay. It was just ridiculous. So that was that. I'll be wearing a helmet from now on, guys. So you should too.

Vineyard Vines OG

So OMG, guys. Yesterday was supa fun. We hitched a 9:15 ferry to "the island", aka Martha's Vineyard. A historical (long-standing African American and Native American history), and elegant (neoclassical mansions, anyone?), and tourist-y (get your tee shirts here!) place, I was completely taken with it. My parents were intent on seeing the Methodist camp in the town of Oak Bluffs, which was cool. Back in the day, a bunch of Methodists from Massachusetts decided to have a revival on the coast once a year. And they liked it so much they built houses and churches and stuff. Voila! National Historic Landmark. The houses are so cute, American gothic "gingerbread" style. So after some lunch at a Jamaican bakery, we took the VTA (Vineyard Transit Assoc.) bus to Edgartown. A statelier town, with white manses and shingled bungalows, is the site of the world's first Vineyard Vines store, guys! Woaaah. It wasn't much. And really picked over. Boo. So then after E-town, we skipped over to South Beach. BEAUTIFUL. Even under intense Cape Cod cloud-cover, the beach was great. The waves were really rough, pulling Katie and my fave J.Crew skirt she was wearing INTO THE WATER. So after she got all dried offf via the hand driers in the bathroom (classy, I know), and we picked up some super cute tees, we ferried back to Woods Hole. While Mom and Dad ate out alone, Katie and I ate at a local quick eats joint, and took a trip to the candy store. Overall, an amazing day, and I can't wait to come back to the Vineyard. And I will. So you should too.

I HEART CAPE COD

WOAHH, GUYS! Today, we drove from Boston to da Cape! And I love it so much. The drive, which should have taken an hour, but thanks to some spectacular navigational skills ended up taking two, was beautiful for the most part. We stopped in Plymouth to visit Plymouth Rock and the fake Mayflower. Fun. Plymouth was cool though, and we all got matching sweatshirts. So then there was a brief bought of carsickness, which led us to a yumtious restaurant that has been in business since the 1600s. WOAH. When we finally arrived in Woods Hole, it was heaven. It's the best town. I can see the water from my room in the Woods Hole Inn, and it's pristine and still. The town actually reminds me a lot of the Pacific Coast towns in Washington state. Anyways, there's a place called Coffee Obsession across the street thats so cute. AND there is a FREE AQUARIUM. WITH SEALS. So cool. So, since I've already had 2 lobster nights, I believe I'll go out on a limb and get crab. So you should too.

laate

woah, guys. time for some more e. e. cummings style fun. i forgot to blog yesterday. and what a day it was. we started the morning lazily. we visited quincy market, and lotsa other historic stuff along the way. at the market we grabbed some grub and walked toBOSTON COMMONS for a picnic and some real cute reenactments. yumm. do you know that in boston they have a mac 'n cheese fast food restaurant?? well, they do. oh, and katie discovered her calling as a squirrel whisperer. after lunch we headed to the south end and visited the NATIONAL BEER MUSEUM. aka, the sam adams brewery. it was funnnn!! yay america. we then headed back to the subway, or the T as it's called, where katie lost her iPhone. ehhh. Well then we went to NEWBURY STREET for some fun shoppin' and a visit to the french cultural museum, which reminds me, HAPPY BASTILLE DAY EVERYBODY!!!!! i even picked up a birthday gift for a certain friend.... anyways. we then ate at NO NAME restuarant. MORE LOBSTER. i am loving the east coast. im eating a ton of lobster. so you should too.

Providence!!!!!

Guys, oh man! Today has been a whirlwind. After leftover pastries from the fabulous Mike's Bakery, we hitched a ride on the train to Providence! After a jaunty hour-long ride, we arrived to find gorgeous weather and mild temperatures. So then we met up with our Brown student pals for lunch. But the real treat came post-meal. After a brief shoe-shop-stop, we met a professor friend at the Brown bookstore, and I even got a private campus tour! It was AMAZING. And I am so grateful. After the tour we did some lookin' around RISD. That's the Rhode Island School of Design, kids. Love. It was interesting for me to compare it to SCAD. Then, RISD tee in hand, we headed back to catch a train to Boston. A great day, indeed. So tomorrow, we may or may not be going to the Samuel Adams Brewery Museum. Fun. I plan to enjoy my last full day of vacation. So you should too.

Pics to follow!!

Harvard Calling

Oh em gee.. I have walked probably 10 miles today. So worth it! We headed over to Harvard. Magical, guys, magical. Everything was so cool! And old! I enjoyed the campus immensely. Modern art everywhere, ivy-covered buildings, Asians. Harvard Square was bustling and lively. The Harvard Cooperative Society, "the Coop", takes up many buildings and has everything from Harvard Insignia gear to Clinique products. We ate lunch at a Vegan/Vegetarian restuarant that was DELISH. Tofu scramble yummm. The afternoon brought about more walking, but also some fab shopping at Urban Outfitters and Raspberry Beret. Remember that name? It was on my thrift store list. It was awesome! I got a $2 dress and a rose ring. Yay! The highlight of Harvard Square: the streets were blocked off to make room for a giant TV screen and crowd watching the World Cup. Speaking of, I arrived back at Hotel Marlowe just in time to see Espana win!! Viva Espana! All in all, a great day. And it's not even over! I'll be celebrating Spain's victory. So you should too.

**btw this is my own picture :]

Beantown

Well, guys. So far this has been.. interesting. I'll walk you through it. It started off totally normal, though $50 to check bags is RIDIC. So we boarded our plane in normal time. And we sat, and sat, and sat some more. Then, our super peppy flight attendants informed us that they couldn't find the pilot. Or the co-pilot. Literally, lost the pilot. So we "de-planed" and headed inside the concourse while they looked for a replacement pilot. For 3 hours. During that time, I, the Caffeine Queen managed to down 3 cups of coffee. So obviously, the second we got on the plane I had to pee. So I was THAT GIRL. The annoying plane girl who hits everyone's seat because she goes to the bathroom all the time. So 3.5 hours after our scheduled arrival time, we land. The city is great! A bit melancholy, but hey, that's me. At Hotel Marlowe, our home away from home, we received our complimentary room companion, a goldfish. Jacques Cartier. Jake, for short. Dinner was at California Pizza Kitchen in the CambridgeSide Mall next to our hotel. Crying waitress, delicious pizza. Tomorrow, we head to Harvard Square. DTF**!

**DTF: Details To Follow.

I'll also be heading to Poor Little Rich Girl, a vintage shop in Copley Square. I'll be wearing some yummy consignment finds. So you should too.

New Shoes On

Hey, you guys! I have an inquiry. I want some new Converse, and I need some help with color! I was kinda thinking of doing a slip on, because I'm lazy mostly. So here's what I've got so far: Carolina Blue exterior with pink lining and a pink heel stripe. Sound good to you? Ditto.
Also, Trey Smith, I know you're going to read this, and I know you work at Journeys now, so I expect my free shoes soon, please. Thanks.

I'll even blog about LiLo for you, see?
Lindsay, Lindsay, Lindsay. Where to begin? Your tears (a sign of weakness), your bizarre and offensive manicure (a sign of stupidity), or your old person appearance (a sign of cocaine)? 90 days is too harsh? Awww. NOT. Man up, you little tart! This is your own doing, girl. Deal with it. If only Martha Stewart and LiLo could be in jail at the same time. I would love for them to be friends. Lindsay could learn how to be normal, and maybe even Martha could learn a bit about how to let loose!

P.S.- My vacay is almost here! I'm ecstatic! Not to worry, my MacBook will be traveling with me, so blogs will continue on schedule. Meanwhile, I'll be packing/cleaning out my closet! So you should too.

BEST. ARTICLE. EVER.

OMG, guys. Oh. Em. Gee. I just read the best article ever. It includes a few of my most favorite things: dachshunds, and Russians. A terrific combination. A Russian scuba diver is teaching his pet dachshund, Boniface (best name ever), to SCUBA DIVE. Boniface wears a custom-made diving suit and helmet, and looks hella cute. He even communicates using high pitched noises while underwater. This is proof, ladies and gentlemen, that Russians are superior to Americans, and dachshunds are superior to all other dog breeds.

BTB

Well readers, today is back to business. I.e., back to volunteering at the hospital. Which I'm feeling very bad about. Hmm.. While other volunteers have completed 3 weeks of service, I have completed a mere 3 days. Awesome. Not my fault, however, let's not jump to conclusions! I was at camp, and then at camp again. Such a balancing act. Do you think I would have traded SCAD for a more secure feeling going back to work? NO. I wouldn't. And I'm just gonna grin and bear it. So you should too.

Monday, July 5, 2010

Well...

Well, guys, I came, I saw, I was disappointed. Thrift store shopping in The Gump is not what it should be. I did find the object of my desire, at Ross. What was it, you say? A denim jacket. I fell in love with a Betsey Johnson one at a consignment store in ATL, and I hoped to fall equally in love with a thrift store find here. Not so much. Noted, it was a holiday, but all the thrift stores were closed. TGFR. That's "Thank God For Ross". Open! And full of cheap clothes. I snagged an "ugly", "crazy", "weird" shirt and a denim jacket. All in all, a good day. Woulda been better had these items been purchased at a real thrift store, but still good. I'll be lookin snazzy. So you should too.

Montgomery's Worst Problem

There is nothing to do here that doesn't cost money. Frustrating! I'm on a quest to find something free (or at least inexpensive) to do here! I've heard rumor of a thrift store downtown, maybe I'll check that out today? I have a good playlist, so driving around looking for something is in order I think. Update to follow. I'll be on a search, readers. So you should too.

New Low

NEW LOW/July 4, 2010
Switched CD from bluegrass music to the Fratellis, and then everyone left.

PS- SHOUT OUT TO MEGAN !!!

Have a happy 4th, readers!
PPS- seeing eclipse for the second time tomorrow. So you should too.

Update (boringggg)

Well, guys, I've been listening to the Eclipse soundtrack, and I know I told you earlier that my fave song was Jonathan Low by Vampire Weekend. Bit of a change-up. New faves:
Three way tie!
Let's Get Lost [Beck + Bat for Lashes]
With You in My Head [UNKLE]
My Love [Sia]

idk why I changed my mind. But these are equally fantastic, in different ways. Let's Get Lost and With You in My Head both are upbeat and pleasant, with a slightly haunting trademark feel of the Twilight movies. My Love is quiet and reverent, and creeps me out in the best way.

Runner Up:
Heavy in Your Arms [Florence + the Machine]- because I love this band :) sad that this one wasn't in the movie.

On another note, my new Teen Vogue (August issue), almost made me cry. NO it was NOT the photoshoot of the now broken up Demi Lovato-Joe Jonas relationship, it was the school clothes shoot (School House Rock, p128). I love these clothes. And they do not resemble uniforms at all. And I am sad.

OOOH. I have a Fab Find to share with you guys! I eyed it the other day, I'm in love!
The saddest part is, I can't find a picture of it online. It was a colorful beaded piece, reminiscent of Native American jewelry. So cool :) Oh yeah, and, it was at Francesca's Collections.
Tata, readers. I'll be having a happy Fourth. So you should too!

New Low

New idea, guys! I just reached what is, for me, a new low. So I've decided that each week I'll share a poignant and sad moment of my life for your enjoyment.

NEW LOW/JULY 3, 2010
Melted Dove individually wrapped chocolate to put over ice cream by putting it underneath my laptop for a few minutes.

Verdict

I know I'm a little late, I also don't care. I saw Eclipse last night, and I'm here to give a review.
I'll sum it up:
Thumbs Up: Abs, less paleness, more plot, action, legit looking stares, a few songs on the soundtrack (Bat for Lashes+Beck, yes please!), back stories, Riley, new Victoria, better acting, beautiful scenery, improved CGI, Charlie, glass breaking sound when vampires die, humongous diamond ring
Thumbs Down: Jasper's southern accent, lack of appropriate song placement, scarcity of yellow Porsche, acting, weird nub left after werewolf bites off Riley's hand, TOO MUCH SERIOUSNESS (lighten up, guys)

All in all, it was worth a $10 ticket.

There's steady improvement in all 3 installments, so this one is clearly the best. I'm still hung up on the soundtrack, though. New Moon's songs MADE the movie by creating a mood that everyone felt. The Eclipse soundtrack has some killer tracks, I just think they could have been implemented better onscreen.
Also, WHY IS EVERYONE SO SERIOUS? I like to think that I have a pretty good sense of humor. I like to think no one in these movies does. Jacob tries. Hard. Too hard, to be funny. His quips are repetitive and get old reallll fast. Edward is incapable of making a joke. Or smiling. Bella is subtly dry. Very subtly dry though, you have to watch and listen for her blips of witty cynicism. Eclipse is my fave book because I think it has the most upbeat feel. Sure, sure, an army of bloodthirsty vampires created by her one true enemy is after Bella, but she's got 2 gorgeous guys fighting over her! She's relatively happy!
I loved New Moon for its ability to make me feel as sad as Bella, and then as happy. With Eclipse, I felt... like me. I wasn't fully transported to Forks. I did enjoy watching it, though.
P.S.: I'll be listening to Jonathan Low by Vampire Weekend, my favorite track from the soundtrack. So you should, too.

Yo, readers! As July rolls in, I'm starting to get excited about my trip to Boston/Cape Cod in just a few short weeks! Now that I've basically abandoned all former dreams of going to a prestigious institution of higher learning in favor of an art school and super fun life, I've been searching for more art-school-hopeful activities to do in Beantown. So what's better than some vintage shopping? Yeah, nothing! I've been lining up some promising places and I thought I'd share them with y'all for lack of a better thing to blog about. Hopefully I can check 'em out on my trip and perhaps rate them?
